Located in western Gwinnett County, Peachtree Corners has the distinction of being the only North Atlanta suburb that started as a planned community. It takes up a little over 17 square miles just east of Dunwoody and south of Johns Creek, which means residents can easily take advantage of everything these cities have to offer.

Local Attractions

Parks and green spaces are plentiful in Peachtree Corners. The city sits along the Chattahoochee River, which means access to the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area for hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, picnics, and more. Residents also have access to all of Gwinnet County’s aquatic centers, including West Gwinnett Park, which features indoor pools, a zero-entry outdoor pool, water slides, a river channel, a spray bar, and much more. The 30-acre Jones Bridge Park in nearby Norcross is a great place for families who enjoy fishing, volleyball, picnics, soccer, and playgrounds. Peachtree Corners is also home to several local favorite restaurants, including Grace 17.20 and Taqueria Del Mar. If you are a sports fan, you can head east to Lawrenceville where the minor league team, the Gwinnett Braves, play baseball. The Forum is a popular open-air shopping mall located in Peachtree Corners. It is home to restaurants like Ted’s Montana Grill, La Parrilla, and J. Alexander’s and stores like Barnes & Noble, Coldwater Creek, Ann Taylor, Old Navy, and Pottery Barn.

Real Estate

The median home value in Peachtree Corners is just under $300,000, and the average household income is just under $100,000. The area is largely residential, and single-family homes make up nearly half of the city. One of the largest residential areas is the Simpsonwood-Spalding Corners community, which has its own parks and conference center. Some popular subdivisions in the city include River Valley Estates, Neely Farm, Peachtree Forest, Springfield, and Amberfield.

Schools

The youngest residents of Peachtree Corners will attend Gwinnett County Public Schools, including Berkeley Lake Elementary, Peachtree Elementary, Simpson Elementary, Duluth Middle, Pickneyville Middle, Duluth High, and Norcross High. Ivy Preparatory Academy, a Gwinnett County charter school, is also located in the city. Peachtree Corners has three private schools: Seigakuin Atlanta International School, Wesleyan School, and Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Peachtree Corners offers some of the best suburban living north of Atlanta without being over-priced or too far removed from Atlanta. Its established neighborhoods and parks make it an ideal place to raise a family, and its proximity to many other Atlanta suburbs make it a great place to live if you like to shop, dine out, or stay active. Commuters love it because they can reasonably work in Atlanta and be back home again without having to spend hours on the interstates.
